Dr Barnouti, performing Neck & “double chin” liposuction in Sydney Australia. A double chin is essentially a neck problem, not a chin issue. It is due to excess fat in the area of the neck that is directly below the chin, hence creating the appearance of an extra chin or double chin.
When this problem happens, it does so to varying degrees, with the worst cases appearing like double chins. Surgery is NOT for everybody. it will not make others like you better nor will it make you a better person but it will make you feel better about yourself and your self esteem (i.e. do it only FOR YOU and not because someone wants you to or because “everybody’s doing it)
I highly recommend to wait until you are over 21 for any body altering surgeries as bodies continue to change even as a young adult.
I hope this helps some of you and I will be answering as many questions as I can regarding this as it is a very very big decision.

1- Where is the procedure being performed and is the facility accredited?
2- If done in the office-ask to see facility-check for cleanliness and also ask about qualifications of the staff.
3-Does the physician have hospital priviledges? If not why?

I did not initially tell any of these physicians what I thought were problems. I allowed them free rein to tell me what “work” they thought I “needed”. Toward the end of the consult I expressed what I was willing to do. Botox at my age would be a real disaster.
